The origins of Vermeulen.

The story of Vermeulen begins with Peter Vermeulen, a craftsman to the core. In the 1980s, he translated his passion for technology into his own electrical contracting business. No grand claims, just tireless dedication. In an era where technology was still pure manual labor, Peter made the difference with his profound knowledge and genuine attention to the customer.

That approach laid the foundation for what Vermeulen is today: a regional benchmark where integrity and personal relationships are central. The fact that our employees stay with us for an average of 19 years is, for us, the ultimate proof of that loyal and trusted culture.

From father to son: A new phase

In 2020, son Wouter Vermeulen returned to Belgium following an international career in strategy and technology firms. His professional path had taken him from Amsterdam to China and ultimately to the United States, where he worked with innovative tech companies and gained deep insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and talent development. When his father asked if he was interested in helping shape the future of Vermeulen, Wouter immediately saw the potential.
